1. Ascertain word count of completed document. We accept Word (.docx) and Pages files.
2. Contact Rhubarb for availability.
3. If the job is accepted, payment in advance of 50% (jobs over JPY5万|AUD500) or 100% (jobs under JPY5万|AUD500) is required. Rhubarb will invoice/receipt.
4. Email Rhubarb your manuscript. Please re-save all images as small 72dpi jpegs, or remove them from the document (leaving figure captions in the document).
5. Jobs under JPY5万|AUD500: Rhubarb will electronically return your completed work, in the original file format and as PDF if required. Jobs over JPY5万|AUD500: Rhubarb will forward a watermarked PDF document with tracked changes visible, pending payment of remaining fee. Upon receipt of the balance, Rhubarb will send the editable document.
Rhubarb doesn't:
— negotiate or discuss texts or details with clients in person or by telephone
— provide advice on how to improve writing style beyond that directly relating to the document in question
— offer discounts
— reserve time-slots: we find that very few of these arrangements are met by clients in the writing/publishing world!
— write content 'from scratch'
— thoroughly fact-check, though we do have excellent radars
— accept payment methods other than bank transfer (Australia or Europe) or Paypal (all other countries)
By accepting a quote from Rhubarb, clients agree that Rhubarb: is not reviewing the validity of the text or its eligibility for selection based on any selection criteria; is not responsible for any other party’s infringement of a 3rd party’s intellectual property rights including plagiarism or breach of copyright; is not responsible for clients’ misquotes or incorrect referencing of any sources; offers suggested amendments to the text for the client’s consideration which the client may accept or reject according to their own assessment of the suggestions’ appropriateness and relevance; is not responsible for timelines, submission dates, availability of sources, or any delays which may result in late or non-submission of a text; is not responsible for any error, loss, damage, virus, malware or malicious code within the work or associated with the transmission of the work; is not responsible for server delays or digital communications failures which may result in loss, damage or late submission of a work; will not enter into discussion about the text or the work beyond the contracted agreement and period paid for by the client, by which it is stipulated that further queries relating to an already edited text are charged at an hourly rate.
